Housing crisis

I’m pretty sure the last time I walked these canals (at least two summers ago) they were mostly empty. Last weekend we walked them for over nine miles and barely a boats length wasn’t being used, with lots of areas double-parked.

I guess this is how London solves its housing crisis…

Looks lovely during a summer heatwave, but friends have told me that houseboats are a lot less romantic in the winter, where living in the equivalent of a wooden shed without central heating, mostly submerged in ice-cold water quickly loses its charm. Walked past a lot of grey-haired people and families in those boats.
